Dear Mother:-

Rec'd your very welcome letter this morning together with a Jack Canuck.

I was over to see Dad and Syd about a week ago I guess I told you in my last letter. They were both looking well and Syd's arm is nearly healed.

Alf Owen went through Dad's unit two or three weeks ago. Both Syd and Dad were talking to him. Syd got his birthday parcel all O.K.

I am just scrawling this in a hurry in time to send it out with a ration party as I have been sleeping nearly all day.

I have not seen Pud Douglas but some of the boys have seen him and say he is looking well and has a good job.

I guess the kids are glad to see the summer holidays come and two glorious months looming ahead.

As to your question when the war is going to end, that's the question all the boys are asking, but nobody knows the answer to.

Well dear, love to all.

Jack
