Edmonton Military Hospital

Dear Mom:

Just a note to let you know that I am still alive. Just the same I am fed up with the hospital. I guess I should be for every time February has come up the last 3 years I have been in the hospital some of the month or all of it.

I saw the doctor yesterday, all he had to say was keep up the same treatment and he sent me back to the hospital. The treatment is just hot boracic compresses, which right now have stopped doing anything. The eye was discharging quite freely until yesterday afternoon when it stopped and nothing has come out if it since. The swelling is just about all gone now except for a little in the outside corner. There was a lot of discoloration around the eye but that is nearly all gone now.

This is sure putting me behind the other fellows in my basic. I guess they will put me with another bunch when I get back I won't like that because I won't know anybody.

The weather around here has been swell this last week. It freezes a little at night but by noon everything is melting and the streets are a mess. It is nice and warm during the day. When I have been out which is twice I was wearing the same as I was in Vancouver no great coat though.

What I have seen of Edmonton I don't think much of so I don't think I will come back here if I can help it.

Well that's about all for today. I don't know how much longer I will be here but will write again soon. Give my love to all.

Love
Ted
