Dear Mom:

I was surprised & sorry to hear you were in hospital and had under gone an operation, and am really pleased that you are recovering quite nicely. I received Dads letter yesterday telling me about it. I sure hope after you have completely recovered that you'll leave all the sickness behind and have time again when you'll be able to get around and do the things you haven't been able to the last two years.

Everything is pretty good here so far. had a 48 last week end & went to Brandon & saw Dan & Mae - had a fairly good time. next time I'm going to spend at Clear Lake - just south of here. I have got a picture of the wedding group. Mae brought it from New Westminster with her.

Dad mentioned Howard Vey was in the RCAF. now. well I saw him on Sat. with another fellow who was in the 13th [?] with me. Boy one gets a lot of surprises when going to Brandon - what with meeting fellows who were with you at some time & have been washed out & new fellows joining up. I haven't seen Bob Anderton again but will do soon as can. do if he is still there

Well Mom will close now with lots of love & kisses, tell dad I'll write tomorrow sometime as I have to do work tonight.

So bye now and get better soon

Your loving son
Jack
