Nov. 27, 1943

Dear Mom. Tonight I received yours of Aug. 11 and 15 the first for quite some time. Last Monday Jim's sports letter of Aug. 8 and Sept 12 arrived. Today I received a parcel of vitamin tablets and soap sent July 31 from Hudson's Bay. These will come in handy before the winter is out. About three or four weeks ago a standard U.S.A. food parcel came in. It was sent July 27, 1942 though [?] 7 [?]. The card came a few days later. I can understand you having difficulty finding news for letters. I'm often thankful any letter writing is restricted to a few lines, as its so hard finding something to say. Christmas will be quiet this year. I can't see myself getting very excited over it. How's Brenda and the baby getting along? Well, I'll close for now, love to all We get a kick out of your jokes. Syd
