Dear Mom - How's everything going out there? Rec'd yours of Aug. 19 and 23, and Brenda's of Aug. 27. We are allowed eight letters this month and can send two letters and two cards. I have several food parcels in store now, drew out one sent by Mrs. M. Feb. 17, Also one sent Apr. 24. Both were swell, especially chicken. Rec'd Mrs. Carr's of Jun. 16, it was great too. As I told you before send only two food a month, no books or cigarettes or clothing. Tooth powder & brushes needed from time to time. All your parcels have been swell and I am better off than most of the boys. Photo album & scrapbooks rec'd, also ping pong balls. 14 books sent June 1st. Also pocket books. Rec'd Stickleys[?] of April. I'm anxious to see how house looks now. Pretty good I bet. Give Brenda and Bob my love. I hope they're getting along alright. Last time I saw Bill he was in perfect health but tell Tootie to get Enid's address from his father so she can send letters to Bill. We have a new theatre here now, band this week movies next I hope. Everything fine here. Buy Xmas presents for Brenda, Jim, Bob & yourself from me. Don't stink yourself either. Solong, love to everyone, Syd.
