Dear Lettie

I received your letter on Thursday but I guess I sent you cards since then. Well I am getting a pass for this weekend and I will be home Saturday night I think between 5 and 6. Our battalion is going on the march tomorrow. I have asked to go too so I think I'm going. Two of the waiters can go.

Our battalion and the 98th had a football game last night. Our battalion won by 4 to 1. We have a big tent fitted up with seats and tables for writing and they supply you with pen, ink and paper and envelope like these I am using and we have a fine new piano and we hold entertainment and singing every night.

The minister holds free and easy meetings every Wednesday night. Well I think I will close for this time as I have to get dressed for dinner at 6. So I hope to see you soon.
