Bramshott Camp
Sept. 14

Dear Lettie;

I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know I'm well. It is beautiful weather here just about right for living. There is a lot of them black berries here they are just thick but you can't buy sugar to preserve them. The family can only buy two pounds a week. There has been no Zepps around since that one was fetched down. We see lots of British airplane flying over.

Well we got inoculated again. I was a little stiff for a couple of days. I suppose they will soon have us bullet proof and bomb proof and every other kind of proof. We had a big mess dinner here last night. We had some distinguished guests here. I have been out a few miles in the country in the afternoons and it is just beautiful. Some holly hedges and fine roads. I have not had any letters from you yet. I do not know when we will be going to France. It may be a month or two but it all depends on the Canadian casualties. If they have severe losses we may go at any time. I intend going for a weekend to London on the 23rd of this month. Nobody is allowed in camp at all without a pass so we don't have any visitors. Well I must close and get the supper ready. So goodbye. Write often.
