My dearest Mother

Just a line to say How'd yer do! this lovely bright wintry day. I'm feeling very much in the pink T'is freezing hard and has been since early morning. The snow is still in abundance here is frozen hard. Just fine for a snowshoe tramp if it were a little deeper and in another part of the world to this.

Noticing the date I see that it is eleven months tomorrow since I landed in France. Gosh! The time flies don't it?

Enclosed are some postcards, which I want specially preserved (some more will come later).

I must stop now so bye-bye.

Ever your loving boy

Jack
