Dearest Helen and Howie

Well my love how are you. I am on leave in England now I told you in my last letter that I was going. So here I am. I havn’t had any mail from you since I left of course but I hope there are plenty of letters waiting me when I go back. I won’t be in Holand much longer I expect to be back in England in a few weeks I go back of leave on the 30th. I am with Jake at present he is still in the same old camp. It shore seems funny to be on leave again. It has been a year and 6 months since I had a leave and only had 24/48hrs in that time. Can’t say when I will be on my way home but I suppose I will get back before this year is out. So don’t go getting fed up on wating I know you must be as you say you are going out more I told you to before as it makes the time go faster. But be careful won’t you. Please don’t get the idea that I am forgiting you as I am not. And never could. I still love you as much as ever and one day soon I hope I can prove that to you. There isn’t a heck of a lot I can write about only how glad I am that you and Howie are OK. And the war is over. I may be home sooner than I figure if this companionate leave comes through as the Office things it will any day. But I am not banking on it at one time I was but it has been so long now that I figure they have just throwen it out. Well my love I will close now. Hope you are well and do take care of yourself and Howie for me. All my love dearest. I am yours forever.

Your husband

Bill
