We are still in our camp here in the park, though we expect to go out on training shortly. I expect we will see action this year, though I can’t see much for the Canadians before September. We certainly have the right victory formula at last. The North African campaign certainly showed we had learned all the major Nazi tricks and added a few of our own. It must have been a wonderful day for the boys in the 8th Army, most of them veterans of Dunkirk, Crete, Greece and two unsuccessful Libyan campaigns to find ourselves in the happy position where they could repay the Germans in full for all the previous reverses. I shouldn’t care to be in the position of Italy now that the Allies have come into their stride.
