R.M.S “KILDONAN CASTLE”

Still on board Kildonan

My dear Miss Shand-

Well it is almost three weeks since we came on board. I wrote Miss Mac when we were in the harbor at the Island of Lemnos, We were all ready just to walk off, but we did not as you see. That is over a week ago and we are still on board. We have not been at Lemnos all that time but have been moving around from place to place. I cannot tell you all the things that have happened in that week. I will have to leave that until I come home. We are now at Anchor in the harbor of Valletta on the island of Malta.

One night we were all taken off this ship and put on an Indian ship. We spent the night and had our breakfast on it then brough back by a little tug to the Kildonan again.

Our experience during this week has been most wonderful.

I have seen three rescues effected by our ship’s crew. One was a man, one a cat and one an airship which fell into the ocean. I wish I could tell you all, but I can’t do that.

I am beginning to feel our ship is like “The Ancient Mariner”. which could not find a landing place.

Love to Mrs Clare and Miss Mac
Still send my letters to London address.
With love,
L. A. Davis.
