[text missing – corner removed when stamp was cut off] Audrey:

Hello darling here [cut off]gain to let you know that I received the whistle O.K. Thanks a lot darling it is really swell. I’ll treasure it always and also the person who sent it. I hope you can read this writing alright, I’m in the sick bay and in bed. I caught myself a bad case of tonsilitis or something of the sort but I’ll be O.K. in a couple of days. I’m feeling a little better now, couldn’t eat for two or three days but I did manage to have a little supper to-night even if it did nearly kill me to swallow. Don’t worry tho honey it takes more than this to get me down.

Don brought the parcel over last night and was I ever glad to receive it, maybe Don could tell you better. I haven’t received the letter that you sent with it but expect it real soon. Don came over again to-night to see me, he just left a few moments ago, he says hello to everyone. We did some studying, not much, it was more talk about things at home and how we wish we were there right now. Pardon me honey time for my garggle. Just tried it and it is suppose to be warm, the darn stuff is cold so I do not take. Gosh I’ll be glad to get out of this place, it gives me the willies.

Well honey I hope you are well and fine. How is everyone else? Have you become an auntie yet? I still haven’t heard; so don’t you forget to let me know. Say hello to Lorna, Bernie and all the others. Give my love to your mom and dad. No Xmas cards to send honey but I hope you have the best of everything. I love you with all my heart.

Love and Kisses
Bill
