Dear Dad,

As I have two of your letters, it is pretty near time I was getting busy.

My cold has been none too good and Tuesday eve I went to bed early, staying there all day Wed. Tuesday morning, I reported sick but as there were only two of us on the ward, and no extras around, he gave me “medicine and duty” with instructions to report in the morning for hospital, if I was not better. I did not feel like walking up the hill tho, so just stayed right in bed. I had nothing to eat or drink till 6.30 P.M., but slept most of the time and was not hungry in the least. I just felt that I wanted to be left alone. They sent a corporal down to see if I needed anything, but I told him I would be O.K. This morning I felt all right, arose at 6 A.M. walked up the hill and had a shave, and then felt rather rotten, but in about an hour I felt O.K. and to-night, well enough to be down town, altho my cold is not entirely better.

I had to-day a letter from Nert, also the Christmas Cards, I got my 35 that I ordered here too, to-night but I will have no trouble getting places to send them.

Things around the ward are about the same, very busy and very short handed. The Germans are surely doing things. I have had none of the latter parcels as yet. Let me know contents and date sent. Do hope the sox and candy come registered or I may miss them in the rush. Name every box and wrapper.

I am surely sorry you are not feeling so well. It is getting right into the busy season too and not much chance to take a rest. I think you had better put in a good man after New Year’s so you can take things easier.

A son of L.H. Sinden who is here with the A.M.C., has been pretty sick with pneumonia. I was in to see him to-day and he is much better. You had better tell them, as I don’t think he has sent any word and they may be worrying. I don’t know how long he has been sick. He is lucky as few recover here. He has been well looked after tho.

I will continue sending Nert’s letters home and you can forward as she will soon be home now.

Must write Floss a note too so will have to stop now.

Lovingly
Worth.
