April 3, 1944 Mont Joli, P.Q.

Dear Mom,

I did receive my "B" grouping and pretty soon the D. R O.'s will announce my LAC promotion. I'll be getting more pay, but I don't intend to use it now, instead I'll buy a larger Victory Bond, which will go towards my future.

Send me the address of the Doubleday Book Club, since I'd like to get some books from them again. During the past four days, I've read "Claudia", "And Now Goodbye" by Hilton, "Not to the Strong", and I'm now reading "The Citadel" by A J. Cronin. I read during any spare moments that I have, but when my Mathematics texts arrive I'll be busy with them.

Love, Lewis
