July 12/44.

Dearest Lawrence.

I received both your letters yesterday and I am sorry that I haven’t written to you and I feel very guilty. No hon you havent said or done anything to hurt me so please don’t worry and I will write often to make up for the other times I haven’t written.

Well I have just come back from my holidays, my girlfriend and I went on a bike trip to the states and Vancouver and the island and I got a beautiful tan and also feel a little stiff but it was really fun. Darling did you have much to do with the invasion. I sure hope that you are O.K. and you will come back to Canada all right. It will be swell when you come home and Christmas isn’t so far away, if you do come home at Christmas will it be for good darling I really hope so. By the way Johnny got drafted to a ship at Halifax so you might be seeing him over there it would be nice if you did meet up with him again.

I recieved another letter from your sister and she is going to send me some pictures of your family I am gradually getting to know your folks.

Well honey I must be going as I am just skulling around in the “Y” at the yard so I had better go and do some work.

I am thinking of you always
Love As Ever
