Dear Marg and Marie,

Well girls, I have been receiving all your mail O.K. as well as Mum’s and Frances’. I know there is more waiting for me in camp too, but it just hasn’t gotten to our own Post Office as yet. I got four letters yesterday 1 from you girls, 1 from Mum and the other two from Frances.

I am on course now and have been ever since I came here, I will be finished on Saturday, it’s the same course as I had in Camp Borden only more advanced and believe me it isn’t soft, Al Perryman is on the same course with me. He is the only one of the gang left that I came over with, the others have all gone in different directions.

I haven’t been doing much in the line of entertainment lately, I went to a free show they had in camp for us a couple of nights back and attended a free bingo, with cigarettes as prizes but I wasn’t lucky. I also have tried the English beer over here but it isn’t worth looking at its practically all water. One thing peculiar about the pubbs over here, they allow the men and women to eat and drink all in the same room, and the women stand up to the bar with the men, it reminded me of the Pickadilly in Toronto.

Well Marg, did you have a good time on your holidays, and did you meet Frances when you were home, if you did let me know what you think of her. You were thinking of going to Jackson’s Point eh Marie, I think probably Mum would like you home for at least a week.

I still haven’t gotten a leave but expect to as soon as I come from this camp, it will probably be for 7 or 9 days. I was out walking last night down to this little squirt of a town we have beside our camp and I came accross Wellington’s Monument, you know the guy that fought in the battle of Waterloo against Nap. Tom Gardiner has probably seen it a dozen times.

Well girls I’m running out of words again so I’ll say “so long” for now,

Your big brother,
Lloyd.
