Dear Mother
Just a line to say I received your letter afew days ago. and was glad to hear from you and to know you are well as this leave me.
We are haveing fine weather just now. but it soon will be the raining season here, and it sure is some country when it rains. Some of the boys say if thay were the Franch people thay would give the germans the country and say thay was sorry for the mass it is in.
Tell John I am sorry I can't get him anything for his barthday but if I eve get the leave I am looking for I will send him something from england it wont be long before I go on leave now. there is not many to go before me. and thay are going at the rate of about 3 a week.
Well, I must close for now as I have no more news
