Dear Father; -

Just a few lines to let you know I am still alive I have not heard form you since I came down hear

We got orders to night to leave camp Monday afternoon at fore oclock fore the east we do not know where we are going but I supose it will be overseas

I hear you had snow up there since I left that will put threshing back a lot has MCloud go t started to thresh yet we will be in Halafax by the time you get this I will wright as often as I can on the trip I dont supose that will be often I may get a chance to wright from Halafax if they let us out of our lines

I passed the final medical examination yesterday and I was vaxanated to day so I have seen enough of the doctor for a few days there was only about 6 turned down in the hole Batt mostly the Big men [?] all the big men were unfit they issued us our one rifiles to day and half an hour after we got orders to turn them in to be packed for overseas so we did not have our rifiles and bayonets long well I guess I will close now
