Dear Father
I suppose you have been expecting a letter from me for quite a few days. There is not much news but I knew you would like to hear from me. I have just written home to mother today. So there is no need to send this out to her. Will you let Doris know that you heard from me. I sent a p.c. to the postmaster of the 29th asking him to hold all my mail ‘till I rejoin them. So you can address me there as you did before.
Edwin Davey is here in camp, but I haven't seen him yet.
Did you get the parcel I mailed you from Hythe?
Well for a few days bye bye. Will drop a line soon.
Your affectionate Son,
George.
