Dear Mugsey,

Just a line Kit to let you know that Bill & I are going up to London for the weekend and won't be able to write a letter until Monday or Tuesday, so don't worry.  Three big letters came OK this week.  Hope you are all well by this time dear, keep yourself well clothed and your feet dry.  I'll make my next letter a whopper, so cheer up, got cake from our Aunts.

Your little parcel received OK last night, thank you very much Kid, I'll write a big letter on Sunday.  This is a picture of Petticoat Lane, where we were on Sunday, it is sure some place (just inside the outskirts) (did you get me steve?) Hello Kit,

Just a line I can't get a pass for this weekend, but maybe next week.  We are out for night work to-night.  Wrote a letter to Lil & Aunty to-day.  Your two letters came OK, thanks kid.  I'll write a big letter on Sunday.  I am well, our draft hasn't left yet.

Dear Mother, just a line.  We are going down to Portmouth for the weekend and I won't write until Monday or Tuesday.  This is a lovely day, we had church this a.m.   We are going down to Haslemers this p.m. to get a square meal and some Hot Cross Buns.  Another draft left for France yesterday from our battalion.  I hope all are well & happy.  Will write a big letter so cheer up.

I had a jake time in London yesterday.  We are having great weather now, nearly wasted in London.  Three big letters from you today dearie.  We are having night work to-night so I can't write until to-morrow or next day.  I'll go to the p.o. & post this now.  I will chew some of that spearmint. Hello Irish, just got up, having a fine time down here.  Swell beaches & promenade, going in twice to-day.  I got your song yesterday, will send it next week.   This is a swell city, lots of chicken on the beach, saw some jake sight yesterday.  Bill & Jack are fine.  Will take a dive for you to-day, some good feeds here.

Dear Kit here I am at last Some Where in France, [censored] it is pretty hot here to-day. We are at the rest camp for a few hours, leave for the base later on.  I have some French money now & feel rich, I spoke a few words of French to a couple of kids in town and they answered.  I have just had some lemonade & cake here at camp YMCA and it sure went fine.  Bill is well.  I will write a letter as soon as we get to the base.  I may see Andy to-morrow.
