Dear Family,

Here are the other Xmas presents. The two cigarette holders are for Dad and Grandpa. They should have two U-shaped pieces of steel put in them to hold them open so they won't crush the cigarettes. But the Red Cross lady can't get them any more. So I have to send them as they are and hope you can fix them up. The two change-purses are for Stanley and Burt. I hope they have something to put in them. I have put an English penny in each; it is supposed to bring good luck.

Well Merry Christmas to you all. Save a place for me, though I can't eat my Christmas dinner in person, I'll be there in spirit. Did you get your present Mom? It should have arrived by now.

Jim
