France 2/12/16 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter and parcel a few days ago, thanks very much for the same, I got your letter the day I came back, and the parcel the next day, I was up in the trenches for two days, we are out just now for six days, we are going in again in a day or two. I think we are in for eighteen days, then we are out again for six days, we will be out for Christmas and in for the New Year, so it won't be so bad if we have it that way, I don't think there is any chance of leave for some time to come, but it will come some day, the weather has been a little better for the last few days, it is a bit frosty so it will help to dry up the mud that is around, I had a letter from Mother she was saying she had received that money allright, it had come from Canada that is why it was so long coming, I think this is all this time hope to hear from you soon hope this finds you all well as it leaves me fine. I remain Your Loving Brother Alex
