France 17/7/16 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter last Friday and the parcel came Sunday, which I must thank you very much, we enjoyed it fine, there was four of us for it. I got a stripe up now, I was telling you that I had refused it once, well when we were out this last time, they made a few more L Cpl and I was one of them, so I thought I would take it this time, we are up the line just now, but we have been fairly quiet this time. The weather has been a little wet this time, but not to bad at least we never got wet yet, well I don't hardly what to write about as there is not very much we can write about, I suppose you will be quite busy now till the end of the month, hope this finds you all well as it leaves me fine. I remain Your loving brother Alex
