Dearest Laurie

There was a little mail in last night but nothing worth mentioning. There should be a lot in one of these fine days most likely tomorrow. I've sure been looking forward to an airmail letter but haven't had one for three weeks or more now. One of these days I'll be getting three or four of them all at once. They sure can't turn up too soon to [?] me or there isn't much to do around here. We have been working pretty hard during the day but the evenings are sure a bore.

We had an alert last night and it just lasted long enough that I wasn't able to finish this. It is hard to find a place to write around here as yet but we'll soon have a place fixed up. It was raining a bit this morning so that put a stop to any motion I had of writing. I want to go out after supper tonight so that means I'll have to finish this toot sweet. We were paid this afternoon but didn't receive the subsistence allowance for leave. It makes all of us wish that hadn't put it on orders as we look forward to it now. We'll get it someday but they are sure taking their time about it.

There wasn't any mail in again today so that means we'll have to wait until Friday now. It was about this time last year that we went five weeks without mail so maybe we are in for the same thing this time. It is sure the bunk this not having a radio or some kind of entertainment but we should be used to now. We are trying to get a gramophone but so fare haven't had any luck. It is going to be the bunk around here if we don't get something pretty quick but we'll just have to make the best of it I shouldn't be writing tonight though as I have the blues so take no notice of anything gloomy that I put in this letter. I wasn't going to kick about anything after coming back from Dieppe but seem to be forgetting myself again.

So long for now Sweetheart and take good care of yourself. Don't worry about me not getting mail as it isn't your fault and there will be plenty in before you get this. I can't help putting it on paper sometimes but have really been getting our mail swell this year.

Lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses

Your Loving Husband

Ron

P.S. I Love You.
