Dear Mother
Just a line to say Merry Xmas hopeing you and John are well as this leaves me. This is Xmas day how are you and John spending it write and let me know it is not so bad here we had the day off and had a good dinner so I suppose I have nothing to kick about.
I forgot to tell you I seen Mrs Grundy and Mrs Dixson out here and they gave me quite a hols Mrs Grundy was quite glad to see me. are you still in Winnipeg or have you left. I see there is a lot of peace talk I hope it comes to something.
What did John get for Xmas this year. poor old John I suppose he often thinks of his Brother well tell him it wont be long before I am home again, and then we will live the same as in the old times because I dont think this war will see next July every body is sick of it here. Well, I think I will close for this time.
I remain your loven son
Owen
