Today is Easter day so I thought it would be a good time to write. I attended the Easter church service at the barracks and enjoyed it, after the service they announced that any boys who wanted to go to a private home for dinner could do so by applying at the Y.M.C.A. office but I preferred to stay in as it is rainy out, the first time it has rained since I have been here.
I sent to Vera and told her to send you some flowers for your birthday. I was afraid it might reach her a little too late but I I guess you have them by now alright, I will send you something else later.
Yesterday which was Saturday afternoon, I thought I would try and get a little more sleep and as I was hanging up my coat who should walk up but George McGladey. I sure was glad to see him he came up from Montreal to see his girl and so he dropped in to see me. He sure is looking fine and boy has he changed, he has quite drinking and seems to be studying hard. He was noted by the boys at his school to be the class senior and he sure is proud of it.
I was sure sorry to hear that vain had lost his leg, poor little fellow, I guess Aunt Jenny & Uncle Bols have taken it hard.
I guess Frank and Ann are proud of their new baby, congratulate them for me will you.
Next weekend after payday I am going to hitch hike to Niagra Falls the boys who have been there say it is swell. I have been in swimming at the Y.M.C.A. twice and was invited to a social by the Y.W.C.A. for today but I am broke so if I don't go to Niagra next week I will attend the social for that week.
Ann Neagle the movie actress was here last night and I have also seen Lord and Lady Warwick another movies actor since I came here and I mustn't forget the Archbishop of Canada.
I wanted to send an Easter telegrame but it costs a little more than I have so I thought it would be almost as good to write. Well thats about all I have to say now, tell the girls I will write this week give my love to everyone.
P.S. I hope you had a happy Easter and give my regards to Mr. and Mrs. Darling.
