Dearest Dad Mother Bro & sis. & Duke,
Just received one of your most welcome letters Dad and sure was pleased to get as I hadn't had a letter from any kind for over a week.
I hope that you've sent them two letters Dad as I am waiting for them over here you see if I put in for a leave on compassion grounds? I'll get home faster than just waiting my turn. So I hope to get the two letter's this week and if you haven't sent them yet do so as soon as possible and send them registered Air Mail.
Well as for news there really isn't any here it's the same old thing. I kind of like this job I have here I was speaking to the Capt. And he say's that he'll hold them here till the two letters come and I well image a word from him will help an awful lot so I thank him very much for hold me back as I'd be gone to my holding unit if he hadn't of kept me here. Well I had a great surprise here today I received a swell box of chocolates from the Wolseley Warm Committee War Fund so I sent them the card thanking them very much it's sure nice to be able to say to the boys well I can tell the folks back home sure aren't forgetting the boy's over here. Boy we are sure having real nice weather over here no complaining to do about that. Well as room is getting short I'd say good night for tonight hoping to get them two lettes that means so much to me and also to you Dear ones. Here's wishing you all the very best of health and may God bless you all dear ones' and don't any of you dare do to much work now.
From you Son & Bro who loves you all so dearly
as ever with love Louis xxxxx
