Diary

Slept until nearly noon. Had breakfast in bed. Rained showers all day. On Raiding Party lay out in no man's land all day until 9 PM. I saw the opening of the artillery barrage. We lost 6 killed, 27 wounded. Captured 42 prisoners. Charley Sargent was killed by one of our own smoke shells.
We had no work party tonight.
