In a dugout.

My dearest Mother
Just a word or two to say I'm still quite O.K. The cold weather broke today for we had a short shower of rain but it is freezing again tonight.
My next letter will not be from a dugout and I shall have plenty to do for a few days to come. I don't want you to expect a letter for some days. Your parcel containing gloves has not yet turned up but mail from England takes much longer now than it used to, especially parcels. Your last letter took a week to come although Pa's only took three days. Never mind I say so long as it gets here sometime.
Now I must stop and get some sleep before going on guard so bye- bye.
Your very loving boy
