Sept. 30th, 1915.

Just a note today before I leave for the F.O.O. I would'nt have cabled you at all about the bump but I heard that my name had got into the casualty lists and Col. Mitchell advised me to cable right away. It is all quiet here again but getting cooler every day.

I came right down to the F.O.O. Ell and I are on together for the next two days. We still see each other even though he is now in the 12th Battery. I dont believe I told you that he is now Capt. Greene. We are all mighty glad he got it for he has worked hard. I lent him my pen and as he is still writing I started in with pencil.

I just had a telephone message from the Battery and "Red" read it out to me. It is to have me submit my application for transfer and there is a job that I can take right away. I will do this in the morning when they send me a piece of foolscap down here. I have'nt the haziest idea where I will be sent but will take just what comes. Thank Goodness! I will be getting back to medicine again, I am forgetting all I ever knew and it means a lot of reading to start with.
