Dear Ella:-

My leave has arrived cheerio! I'm staying at this hole until tomorrow night then I go up to Carlisle for a few days. So far the weather has been trés bon and we've had an air raid every night.

I met Alec Parker, John Carling, Vic. Thompson and Tom Blakeney last Saturday and we hiked around together. Although I've only been here a few days my bank balance has already taken an awful slide.

There are some swell shows here now but they've mostly been booked right up to the end of March! I saw Lily Elsie in Pamela last night and she sure is a peach. I'm going to "The Boy" tonight all by my lonesome and they tell me it's a swell show. It ought to be with W.H. Berry in it as he's one of the funniest going.

I'll send you some of the music whether you want it or not. I was issued with a sugar card before I left and shall buy my pound tomorrow. It can't be got at any of the hotels or restaurants with tea or coffee so we all lug a few lumps around with us. I met an Australian sub. in Boulogne and we came over together so I got about 10 lumps off him. Some life!

Well, dear, I guess it's me for dinner now. Best love to Nen & Dad. Have a good time, I'm with you in it.

Bev.
