There were four of us together and we thought we'd be able to meet Ray and report in by 7:40. Don and I were sleeping together but there were four of us in the same room. The other two got up at 6 but we never heard a thing and slept until 9. We certainly had to move, but anyway we got there about 10 and nothing was said. They gave us our quarters-worse than at Crumlin-no basin plugs and really lousy.
The food at Lachine was horrible. I guess not quite that bad, but it was just the atmosphere. Officers were a nickel, not even a dime, a dozen.
