Letter

Some where in France Jan 28/17 Dear Mother Received your letter two days ago and was glad to hear from you and to hear that you and John are well as I am right now. It is awfull cold here it is about 8 below and we've had snow on the ground for about two weeks You want to know my address the only address I have is the one I give you all the letters you send me to that address will get me alright And you want a little news well I cant give you much as thay whont let me tell just what I am doing but I am alright. France is not so bad as one would think it is sence I come here I have had 3 meals a day and about 8 hours sleep every night so thats not so bad is it. I had a letter from Fred King he told me he is going to Calgary and may go and see you while he is up there. I am not in the tranches if that is what you wont to know I am a driver now and thay are about 5 miles back of the guns and the guns is about a mile back of the tranches so dont worry about me I am alright. Well I think I will have to close for this time as I have no more news for you remember me to John I remain your loven son Owen
