Dear Friend

Just a few lines to let you know that I received your parcel and it came in handy for I an my pals had a good tea with Grandma’s cookies so you see we appreciate some home made stuff when we get it and I enjoyed you little books as the stories in them were very good? Tell your little girl that I received her Christmas card inside one of the books and tell her that her soldier boy is always knocking down the Germans yet and if I can manage to get a little souvenir I will send it out to her and tell the rest of them that I send my best Love to them? The Chiclets you sent out to us we did not know what they were and we had them all swallowed before we recognised what they were and when I took out one of the little slips of paper it said on it that it was Chewing Gun so we had a good laugh? I think I will draw to a close as we are going up to the trenches. Again thanking you for your parcel

With Love to all!

Yours Sincerely
