Dear Sister,-

I am writing another letter although I have not received any letters from home yet that is I have not received any for so long that I think the first one that I do get I will frame as a souvenir.

Well I hope you are all well anyway and mother I would like to know if she is living with you or not because the last letter I had from her she said that she was going to visit you. You will have to consider this letter for mother as well as for yourself. Now I wanted to ask if mother sent me any money since Christmas if so when & how much and I would like to no if she is getting my money alwright. Another thing I wanted to find out there is a talk at least I have heard that the U.S. has passed conscription and that they were going to call back all U.S. citizens of course I don't think that it would effect me but still it might if you can find out anything about this let me know.

Well the weather has been very hot here lately and I suppose that it must be getting pretty hot in N.Y. well I like it a lot better than the cold damp weather. Well things are going about the same as usual with me that is I feel pretty good and keep hoping for peace because the casualtys must be fierce taking both sides it makes a fellow think its about time it ended but we have got to beat "fritz" and I hope we do it in the near future well I guess that's about all hoping all the family are well I will close with lots of love to You and Walter

Your Loving Brother John.

Love to Louise
