Dear Mother:-

Rec'd your nice parcel and one from Aunt Jessie. Syd rec'd a parcel from Aunt Jessie also.

I have not seen Dad yet but I see Syd quite often.

The tobacco and gum were just what I want as it is very handy to have something to chew when you cannot smoke.

Aunt Jessie sent me a cake, some home-made toffee and candy and a pipe. Your parcel was O.K. but the shirt was no use as we get clean clothes when we go to the baths every 12 days.

Lots of chewing and eats is what we need in parcels. I can get lots of smoking tobacco as there are not many pipe smokers.

The weather is pretty good at present and I hope it stays that way.

Well dear love to all from

Jack
