Dear Mom-

Just a few lines to let you know that I didn't forget to send you a card for Christmas, if you are thinking along those lines when Freda & Lil get the ones I'm sending off the same time as I mail this letter. I've had a picture taken of myself while on leave at Manchester & I thought it would be nice to send it on the same time that I send you your card.

Manchester's quite a town & Manchester's women quite a treat compared with what we have to put up with down here in Sussex.

The ba[t?] has moved to its winter quarters & boy what quarters & what a town they can stay right here until the war is over & I wouldn't be the least bit sore at them.

I hope those pictures hurry up & come so as I can get them off.

Love
Nelly
