Dear Alfred-

I am still waiting to hear from you son, hope you are not feeling too badly, could you get some one to write for you, just a line to let me know how you are, as I am anxious. Mrs. [?] has not heard from Andy in two weeks and she is quite worried but I suppose he is alright, as he does not go to the front lines. I have been busy painting the front room as we are having a new lady take the rooms the first of the month, it looks nice now, by the way I sent you off another parcel last Saturday 16th, in it were a couple of bars 2 bags of peanuts & 2 [?], gum 2 pks. Cookies from Mrs. Mc [?] of 2637 Rose St. would you write to her & thank her if you receive the parcel, I sent them along with mine, she used to live with us you will remember her, she wants a photo of you, so I will look one up for her we all well at home… at this time, hoping this finds you getting better, all for now and lots love from us all, love and best wishes
