Dear Kathie

Just a few lines to let you know I received your two letters with the Christmas card I was glad to hear you were feeling much better I am glad to hear that the baby is getting on well I suppose you have got the letter and the small parcel I sent you it was not much but Tommie was out and when he came in he said just send Kathie that for me and tell her I will send her a letter when I arrive aboard it is 5 weeks tonight since he went away and I have had no word of him yet David is home just now on leave for 9 days I do not know where he's going to, he was up to see Auntie Nellie on Saturday with his girlfriend, he was to be married on Christmas but they have put it off till later on I do not get out much account of the Black out it is awful over here Peggie is working now, she is beside David girl maid in the Queens Mary Hospital that is near Auntie Nellie and she offten see her and about the times we are having we are not having half a time the poor folk are having in England what there is not much left of England but still we will stand fast there was a raid last night I often wonder how it will all come out we are affared to go to bed we have got to keep our cloths on in case we are called out to our shelter through the night I wonder if you have anything like Black out we hear of people going out at night going walking into lamppost and walking into one another but I do wish it was all over well Katie I will have to be stopping as we will have to try and get a little sleep in case a raid tonight is a full moon and the jerries got a fine night for a raid Well Katie I will close and hope you will get home for Xmas tell all I am asking for them not for getting yourself with lots of love I am your truly
