Dear Mother,

As you will see by the above address I am back at Uxbridge. I have just received your letters of Jan 8th enclosing $5 which is very welcome as I have been poverty stricken for last month or so. 5 bob a week is not much good the prices things are now.

I have not heard from Syd or Dad for a long time but I had a field postcard from Frank. I am sorry to hear about Bessie having to go to hospital but it might do her good especially if they put her on a light diet.

There has been quite a mix-up in my mail lately on account of me going to Taplow.

A Mrs. Watson who used to stay with you in Spring St. is coming to see me on Sunday, so I shall have to answer and tell her when and where to meet me.

Love to all

Jack
