Dear Mom:

The first thing is that your parcel arrived safely.

Everything will come in handy. At the present time I am not out of shaving cream or blades but was getting low on both. The towels are very welcome as were the socks. Of course there is the snap shot album that is sure to come in for a lot of use.

In your last letter you mentioned that you had sent along my sweat shirts as yet they have not arrived.

The size for the shorts is 30 it used to be 28 so you can see that I have put on some weight. As far as the kind, I have been wearing cotton ones.

Hamilton is quite an old city and there are not many new buildings just the same it is very nice. Most of the new places in town are war plants and homes near them for the employees.

There are a couple of roller rinks here. The one that I was the other night was very nice it is bigger than any we have in Van. and much nicer.

Dad wanted to know how my watch was standing up. All that I can say is that it is going at the present time. There were a couple of times that it has been cutting up lately. When I get home on furlough I was thinking that I would try to get another.

You asked about churches here. As far as they are concerned I don't have to worry as we have mass here in camp every morning.

Last Sunday I was out canoeing and had a grand time, we were out for about three hours. When we went out the water was calm but when we were coming back the wind had come up and it was a little rough.

One of these days we are going to go and try horse back riding. I will let you know the results of that expedition.

This weekend I am going to go down to Buffalo, in my next letter I will let you know what it is like. On my way down I am going to go and see the falls.

If I can get hold of some film I will take some pictures. The boy that I am going with is from P.E.I.

Two weeks ago I wrote to Bob and asked him if there was any chance of his being free this weekend as I hoped to get up to get up to Montreal this weekend to see him. As I did not hear from him I made arrangements to go to Buffalo.

When I get my next long weekend I will try to get up to see him.

The weather has been very hot lately. Last night we had a thundershower it lasted about an hour. As it happened at the time I was out and did I ever get wet as it was quite a ways to the streetcar.

There isn't much more that I can think of now so I will close for now.

Love to all
Ted

P.S. There was a little card that I left on the dresser that had the decimal equivalents and tap and drill sizes on the back of it, if you can find it will you send it.
