Dear Sirs: -

I served overseas from July 1915 to May 1919. I served in France with the 23rd, Battery C.F.A., and was transferred to the 25th, Battery C.F.A. for discharge in Ottawa, in which place I received my discharge May 26th, 1919.

While in France in October, 1918 I was awarded the Military Medal during the fighting at Cambria. The award was published in 5th, Brigade C.F.A. Part II. Orders of about December 20th, 1918. I was presented with the ribbon about January 10th, 1919 in Germany by Brig. General Panet. I gave him instructions for the medal to be forwarded to my sister, Miss C.W. Lindsay, Cobden, Ontario, but up to the present the medal has not been received, and I have heard no word regarding it.

I made inquiries in Ottawa in July 1919, and was informed that the award had not then appeared in the Canadian Gazette, and as soon as it did appear the medal would be forwarded to my address. Surely there has been some mistake, as about one year has elapsed since the award appeared in the Regimental Orders.

Trusting you will give this matter your early attention, I remain

Very truly yours,
