Dear Chrissie

I was ever so glad to get your letter and to know that you are still O.K. and glad to say I am feeling jolly fine  We have been having a pretty good time now for quite a while.

We had Battn Sports this afternoon and the band was playing so we put in a pretty nice afternoon, I did not compete in anything as I am not a speed artist, but just a slow old plug but cheerio I will myself, as the tortoise once won a race and maybe someday if everybody falls asleep I might break the tape, there is a baseball game on now and I think its going to be a pretty good game worth seeing, but as I have several letters to answer I thought I would get busy as I don’t want to get too far behind with correspondence as it means all the more to answer when I do start and then I get in a hurry and just scribble about half page to the letter.  I got a letter from Murray the other day putting me wise, don’t you think she is a little silly not to wait a little while yet.  You and I sure are slow but we might make things jingle some yet, Eh?

Well Chrissie we are having a curious weather and the fields and trees all look fine and it seems such silliness that a war should be raging.

Have you heard from Arthur lately.  I am glad they got seven of the gothas in the last raid and it will likely make them think twice before coming next time now they see they cant come over with impunity as they did about a year ago.  there is a rumor going round that the French have turned the tables a little and made a six mile advance

Well little Sis tatta and cheerio and God be with you

Your loving Bro
Ben
