No 2. Letter
5 – CIRU.
Nov. 13. 1943
Dear Mom :-
I received your No.2 letter and was glad to hear from you. I also received your Xmas greeting and the two quid which I was very pleased to receive and I want to thank you a lot for it. Viv’s letter came in the same mail but I can’t answer it till I get another form which will be in a few days so tell her to sit tight.
Mervyn was on duty last week and could not attend a dance George and I went to. We had a swell time and the girls are very friendly. I am going down to see him this afternoon.
I see by your letter I have countless parcels on the way well I hope they reach me. By the way Donald Oliver is here and he sleeps in the same hut as I do. He is married now as you may already know.
I am still going to the dentist here and all I need now is my plate. I’ve had the impressions taken and all the fillings attended too so I now have perfect teeth.
I am glad to hear that [?] has received my air-graph and I hope that Aunt Gwen and Cis receive theirs.
I met a nice H.T.S. girl last night who comes from Ireland and her name is Barbara Minns. I met here in a Pub here and then we went on a Sightseeing tour. She is stationed only 3 miles from here and I see her every day now. George Thomas has a broad named Marjorie and keep it quiet as he has a girl back home and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for him.
Well Mom, I guess this is all the news I have at present so I will close.
Lots of Love
Wally XXX
Tell Gran I hope she recovers from her accident and give shorty these
