Dear Mom :-

Just a few lines to let you know I arrived OK at new destination and that I am doing swell.  In case you are in the dark as to were I am I’ll tell you.  Its ITALY.  Its not a bad place but I guess it suits it’s purpose.  I have not seen George Thomas yet but I guess I will.

I cannot say very much and what I can say you won’t believe unless you see it yourselfe.

My [?] and I had a good time coming down here.  We were working in the kitchen and had enough to scoff.

Tell Vivian I will write in a few days.  right now I am tired and in bad need of sleep.  I was on a Baggage party and I have not slept for 2 days.

Well Mom, I will write again soon as soon as I get the lay of the place around here.
