Dear Lettie

I received your letter a couple of days ago and was pleased to hear from you again. It is just three weeks since I had your last letter and I thought you had forgot to write. I was glad you got that registered letter all right and I hope by this time that you will have received the parcel which I sent you and hope you like it. Did you have to pay any duty on it or not. I am feeling fine. The weather has been very cold for over two weeks now with a few inches of snow on the ground. It is just like a Canadian winter. Any of them that has been out here for some time say they have never seen it nearly as cold as it is now but there is one thing we have, no mud. I had a letter from Alex the other day. He said you were over to the hospital to see him. He said his leg was getting along fine and I had a letter from Mary yesterday. She said she was sending me a box so I suppose it will soon be here. The box you sent certainly came in a hurry but your letter took a long time. We are in the trenches at present.

Let me know if you paid that money to Goodwin and if you paid it all. I think this is all the news at present. Hoping this finds you and George well. With love to both

From Dave

I have just received another letter from you and also one from Alex. You never put any date on your letters so I don't know when you write them.
