Dear Mother:-

Things are rather quiet this evening so thought I’d drop a line. I am taking the opportunity of writing while the sun is out as it has been dull all day, and I’ve just finished supper. I really have nothing to say other than, that I am in the best of health and hope everone at home is the Same. We are continually being warned against what we put in our letters as they may be of some value to the enemy, and I have not as yet received any mail since leaving England so you can see how I am fixed for news. We get the papers here each day besides
