September 5th.

Just a line to catch mail. Thanks for your very welcome letters. I am very well and also very busy. Am writing at length today.

Terribly sorry about Bert. Daisy and Daddles must be heartbroken.

Weather very fine. Ran into five Huns single handed yesterday morning - I came out of the sun and they could not have seen me. I did not recognize them until I passed through their formation and saw their +. I put my nose down and full engine!! Will tell you about it later.
