Dear Mother and Dad,

This is just going to be a very short note as I only wrote yesterday. We got sudden orders and you will not hear from me for some time I am afraid. I cannot tell you where, of course, but if you will continue to write to the above address until you hear from me again I think it will be best.

All I can tell you is that there are several of us going together and we are very pleased about the whole thing. So the next thing you can expect is a cable with all the information I can give on it.

I am in the midst of packing and it is a terrible struggle I can tell you. I wish you were here to help, Mother.

All my love to you both, once again and please don’t worry about me. Please give my love to Phyllis, Ed and Jane when you write to them.

Your son,
Hampton.
