Dear Helen –

Gee things are becoming more hectic every day – Fer gods sake get over. I’ll be a wreck when I return but it will be worth it.

Did you ever manage to do that shopping for me? If you haven’t the time perhaps if you can phone young Ruthie my cousin she’ll do it for me. The no. is Hy 7340 and her name is Ruth Patterson.

Went to the Royal Albert last night with the Polish Commander and sat in the box with the Admiral who kissed my hand on being introduced dear God what people. I think perhaps I will get married over here – so I will need those clothes – how I want an evening dress. That won’t be so easy to order by long distance.

When and if you come Helen bring all your available civvies. You’ll need them.

This week-end like the three previous week-ends I am going to Bookwood to visit Major Atkins. Big Art Cole will be with us. We dance and drink and have a wonderful time.

Have you heard from [Gene?] I owe him a letter – and then again I don’t, but I’ll write him.

You should see these big night raids it looks like the Milky Way moving across the sky.

The other two photogs are sitting here one cutting paper dolls and the other reading.

I haven’t had a letter for several days – wonder what the hitch is. Wrote to John have you met him yet? Say tell Sally that I’m still waiting for the big Norwegian to arrive. My cousin phoned me to-day – He lost three men from his crew and is very unhappy about it.

Love Karen.
